Tyler Perry (born September 13th, 1969) is a multi-talented playwright, actor, producer and film director who is most famous for his creation of the popular character of Mable "Madea" Simmons in his numerous plays and films.  Tyler Perry turned an impoverished and painful childhood marked by physical abuse into a successful career as a playwright and star of plays such as Diary of a Mad Black Woman, I Can Do Bad All By Myself, Madea's Family Reunion and Madea's Class Reunion.  Tyler Perry's first movie adapted from one of his plays, Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005) was a box-office hit that took Hollywood by surprise by grossing over $50 million on a modest budget of only $5.5 million.  Tyler Perry continued his box-office success by reprising his role of Madea in his sophmore movie effort, Madea's Family Reunion (2006) which grossed an impressive $65 million.  Tyler Perry is also the successful producer of the hit TV sitcom, "House of Payne" and has shown to be an unstoppable force at the box-office with a continual string of successful movies such as Daddy's Little Girls (2007), Why Did I Get Married? (2007), Meet the Browns (2008) The Family that Preys (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009).  Tyler Perry's latest project is the comedy Why Did I Get Married Too (2010) with Janet Jackson.
