T-Pain BIO

T-Pain

T-Pain (born Faheem Najm on June 30th, 1985) is an R&B singer/songwriter, rapper and producer from Tallahassee, Florida.  Before embarking on a successful solo career, T-Pain was a part of the 5-member Tallahassee rap group Nappy Headz.  T-Pain would later record the song "I'm F * * *ed Up" as a solo artist which was a reworked version of Akon's prison ode "Locked Up".  The popularity of the song got the attention of Akon who ended up signing T-Pain to his record label Konvict Music.  This collaboration led to the successful release of T-Pain's 2005 debut album, Rappa Ternt Sanga ("rapper turned singer") and the singles "I'm Sprung" and "I'm N Luv (Wit A Stripper)".  In 2007, T-Pain released his much anticipated second album entitled Epiphany with the chart-topping single "Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin')" featuring Yung Joc which garnered a MTV Video Music Award for "Monster Single of the Year" and a Vibe Music Award for "Song of the Year".  Other notable singles on T-Pain's Epiphany album include the hit "Bartender" featuring Akon and "Church" featuring Teddy Verseti.  T-Pain's successful sophmore effort led to a string of collaborations on his third 2008 album, Thr33 Ringz, that included "Can't Believe It" with Lil Wayne, "Chopped N Skrewed" with Ludacris and "Freeze" with Chris Brown
