Robin Thicke BIO

Robin-Thicke

The son of actor Alan Thicke from the TV sitcom "Growing Pains", Robin Thicke (born March 10th, 1977) found his passion in R&B singing and songwriting, contributed his writing skills to the works of artists such as Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony and Usher.  In 2002, Robin Thicke found moderate success with the release of his first singles "When I Get You Alone" and "Brand New Jones" from his debut album entitled, A Beautiful World, changed from its original title of Cherry Blue Skies.  It was during the fifth season of American Idol that runner-up, Blake Lewis, chose to sing "When I Get You Alone" which catapulted him to the final stage of the competition.  It would be the release of The Evolution of Robin Thicke in 2006 that would catapult Robin Thicke to the top of the music charts and garnered him an American Music Award for Favorite Breakthrough Artist.  His most successful single "Lost Without U" climbed its way to the number one position on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop music chart.  Other notable singles on the album include "Wanna Love U Girl" with Pharrell, "Can You Believe", and "Got 2 Be Down" with Faith Evans.  In 2008, the R&B singer/songwriter would soon release his third album Something Else along with the hit singles "Magic" and "The Sweetest Love".  Fortunately for fans of Robin Thicke, they did not have to wait long for his next album Sex Therapy (2009) which was released with two versions: The Session and The Experience.
