Orlando Bloom BIO

Orlando-Bloom

Orlando Bloom (born January 13th, 1977) has starred in more mega-blockbuster films in his young career than most actors do in their entire lifetime.  In 2001, Orlando Bloom landed the role of Legolas Greenleaf in the Peter Jackson directed epic The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.  Orlando Bloom would reprise his role as Legolas in the Lord of the Rings sequels The Two Towers in 2002 and in the Academy Award winning finale The Return of the King in 2003.  The series of Lord of the Rings films was not the only blockbuster trilogy Orlando Bloom has starred in.  In 2003, he starred opposite Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley as the charcter of Will Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.  The success of the first Pirates film led to Orlando Bloom returning to his role as Will Turner in the record-breaking Dead Man's Chest in 2006 and At World's End in 2007.  Aside from his work in the blockbuster film trilogies, Orlando Bloom has also starred in such films as Ned Kelly (2003) with Heath Ledger, Troy (2004) with Brad Pitt, and Elizabethtown (2005) with Kirsten Dunst.  Orlando Bloom will next be seen in the star-studded ensemble New York, I Love You (2009) with Natalie Portman and Shia LaBeouf as well as the comedy Sympathy for Delicious (2009) with Mark Ruffalo and Laura Linney.
