Every since receiving an Academy Award for his joint screen-writing venture with childhood pal Ben Affleck with Good Will Hunting (1997), Matt Damon (born October 8th, 1970) has gone on to become one of the film industry's best actors. After first being seen on the big screen in 1988's Mystic Pizza, audiences received a glimpse of of Matt Damon's potential with his performances as the racist prep school student in 1992's School Ties and the heroin-addicted soldier in 1996's Courage Under Fire. The media fenzy from Good Will Hunting's success would lead to roles in many high-profile movies such as the Steven Spielberg directed Saving Private Ryan (1998) and the Anthony Minghella directed The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999).
