Maroon 5 BIO

Maroon-5

Maroon 5 is a successful pop rock band from Los Angeles composed of the members Adam Levine (lead vocals, guitar), Mickey Madden (bass guitar), James Valentine (guitar, backing vocals), Jesse Carmichael (keyboards, backing vocals) and Matt Flynn (drums).  While still teenagers in high school, the band went by the name of Kara's Flowers and released a 1997 album entitled The Fourth World after being signed by Reprise Records.  The album was a commercial disappointment, but the band would later reinvent themselves by changing their name to Maroon 5, changing music labels and adding guitarist James Valentine.  The resulting 2002 album, Songs About Jane, would place Maroon 5 into the world's mainstream with the singles "Harder to Breathe", "Sunday Morning", "This Love" and their Grammy Award winning "She Will Be Loved".  In 2007, Maroon 5 released their much anticipated second album entitled It Won't Be Soon Before Long and have continued their initial success with singles such as "Makes Me Wonder", "Wake Up Call", "Won't Go Home Without You", "If I Never See Your Face Again" (with Rihanna) and "Goodnight Goodnight".
