Keira Knightley BIO

Keira-Knightley

Keira Knightley (born March 26th, 1985) started her career as a child actor in several TV movies before being cast as the decoy of Natalie Portman's Padme Amidala, in 1999's Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.  In 2001, she went on to star Disney's Princess of Thieves and the teenage thriller, The Hole.  Although Keira Knightley grabbed her first dose of international attention in 2002's Bend It Like Beckham, it paled in comparison to the exposure she received playing the role of Elizabeth Swann in 2003's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom.  Her newfound success led to roles such as Guinevere in King Arthur (2004), a bounty hunter in Domino (2005), and her Academy Award nominated performance in Pride & Prejudice (2005).  After returning to her high-profile role as Elizabeth Swann in 2007's and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and At World's End, Keira Knightley found critical acclaim with the period dramas Atonement (2007) with James McAvoy, Silk (2007) with Michael Pitt, The Edge of Love (2008) with Sienna Miller, and The Duchess (2008) with Ralph Fiennes.  Keira Knightley's current projects include Last Night, The Beautiful and the Damned, Never Let Me Go and London Boulevard, all slated for release in 2010.
