After dropping out of an art school in Chicago, Kanye West (born June 8th, 1977) found his initial success in the music producing arena working with artists such as Jaz-Z, Alicia Keys, Janet Jackson, and Common to name a few.  Kanye West would finally receive recognition as a hip-hop artist with the release his debut album The College Dropout in 2004.  With an impressive string of hit singles such as "Through the Wire", "Slow Jamz", "Jesus Walks", "The New Workout Plan" and "All Falls Down", Kanye West's career was catapulted to the top of the industry and he was rewarded with three Grammy Awards.  In 2005, Kanye West released his second album Late Registration and once again won three Grammy Awards for Best Rap Album and the hit songs "Gold Digger" and "Diamonds from Sierra Leone".  Kanye's West popularity soared to new heights with the release of his 2007 album Graduation and his chart-topping singles "Stronger", "Good Life" and "Can't Tell Me Nothing".  Kanye West continues to push himself creatively which has never been more evident than his latest 2008 album, 808s & Heartbreak, with the first released singles being the hits "Love Lockdown", "Heartless", "Amazing" and "See You In My Nightmares".
