Jet Li BIO

Jet Li (born April 26th, 1963) is a former national Wushu champion turned international movie star.  Jet Li made his feature film debut in the Chinese martial arts film Shaolin Temple in 1982.  Due to the critical success of the original, he went on to make two sequels, Shaolin Temple 2: Kids from Shaolin (1984) and Shaolin Temple 3: Martial Arts of Shaolin (1986).  In 1991, Jet Li played the Chinese folk hero Wong Fei Hung in Once Upon a Time in China, and in 1994, starred in Fist of Legend, the remake of the Bruce Lee popular movie Fist of Fury.  Jet Li wowed Hollywood audiences for the first time as Mel Gibson's nemesis in Lethal Weapon 4 (1998) and later showed Hollywood that he can be the lead in an action movie as in Romeo Must Die (2000) and The One (2001).  Jet Li continued to produce a very diverse slate of films such as Hero (2002), Cradle 2 the Grave (2003), Unleashed (2005), Fearless (2006), and War (2007).  In 2008, Jet Li flexed his box-office muscles with the worldwide hits The Forbidden Kingdom opposite Jackie Chan and the third film in the popular Mummy franchise, The Mummy:Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.  Jet Li's upcoming project teams him with Sylvestor Stallone and Jason Statham in the actioner The Expendables (2010).
