Green-Day

Formed back in 1987, Green Day is a punk rock band which consists of Billie Joe Armstrong (lead vocals, guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass) and Tre Cool (drums).  After recording their successful underground albums 39/Smooth in 1990 and Kerplunk in 1992, Green Day signed with Reprise Records and made their 1994 Grammy Award winning album Dookie which included their hit singles "Longview", "Basketcase", and "When I Come Around".  The following year, Green Day released their darker album Insomniac with the singles "Geek Stink Breath" and "Brain Stew / Jaded".  The album Nimrod in 1997 introduced the acoustic hit ballad "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" and then in 2000, Green Day came out with the album Warning which would produce the top charting hits "Minority" and "Warning".  They returned to the top of the charts with the release of their 2004 album American Idiot and the hits "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "Holiday" and "American Idiot".  The band would take a five-year hiatus before returning to the music scene with their 2009 album 21st Century Breakdown a string of hit singles such as "Know Your Enemy", "21 Guns" and "East Jesus Nowhere".
