Fall Out Boy BIO

Fall-Out-Boy

Fall Out Boy is a rock band out of Chicago that consists of the members Patrick Stump (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Pete Wentz (bass guitar, backup vocals), Joe Trohman (lead guitar), and Andy Hurley (drums).  The name of the band is derived from the sidekick to Radioactive Man from the animated series The Simpsons.  Formed back in 2001, the band independently released Fall Out Boy's Evening Out with Your Girlfriend in 2002 and followed that up with Take This to Your Grave in 2003.  Fall Out Boy would sign with the label Island Records in 2003 and commercial success followed with the album From Under the Cork Tree in 2005.  The album would produce such hits as "Sugar We're Goin' Down" and "Dance, Dance" and Fall Out Boy's success would be rewarded with a 2006 Grammy Award nomination for "Best New Artist".  Fall Out Boy's 2007 album, Infinity on High, was another huge success with hits such as "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race", "Thnks fr th Mmrs", and "The Take Over, the Breaks Over".  Just when you thought Fall Out Boy couldn't top their previous success, the band would release an album in 2008 entitled Folie a Deux with the first singles released off the album being "I Don't Care", "Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet" and "What a Catch, Donnie".  In late 2009, Fall Out Boy released a greatest hits album entitled Believers Never Die with the first released single being the re-recorded demo hit "Alpha Dog".
