Ellen-Degeneres

Ellen Degeneres (born January 26th, 1958) was an accomplished stand-up comedian and actress before finding Emmy Award winning success as the host of her own daytime talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show.  Throughout the 1980s, Ellen Degeneres toured as a stand-up comic which would eventually lead her to become a national sensation with her own hit television sitcom, Ellen, which made 109 episodes from 1994 to 1998.  One of her most famous moments in television history came in the highly publicized episode in 1997 when her character on the show came out as a lesbian, as Ellen Degeneres had previously done publicly herself on The Oprah Winfrey Show.  Throughout her career, Ellen Degeneres has starred in many movies such as Coneheads (1993), Mr. Wrong (1996), Edtv (1999), The Love Letter (1999), and the voice of Dory in Finding Nemo (2003).  Ellen Degeneres has also been the celebrated host of the Academy Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards shows.
