Danity Kane BIO

  Danity-Kane

Danity Kane was originally a 5-member female R&B group formed during Diddy's reality television series, Making of the Band.  Signed by Bad Boy Records, the original five members included the beautiful and talented: Shannon Bex, Aundrea Fimbres, Aubrey O'Day, Dawn Richard, and Wanita "D.Woods".  Although the band's members would be announced at the end of the show's second season in 2005, the world would watch the band's development, struggles and successes in the show's third season.   In 2006, the band's highly anticipated self-titled debut album, Danity Kane, was released.  The album would reach platinum status and a position on the top of the charts.  Danity Kane's hit singles include their debut single "Showstopper" which was nominated for a Poptastic Award for best ringtone and later the band's second single "Ride for You" which provided further proof of the group's growing popularity.  In 2008, Danity Kane released their highly anticipated second album, Welcome to the Dollhouse, with their first released singles from the album included "Damaged" and "Bad Girl" with Missy Elliott.  Unfortunately for the millions of Danity Kane fans, the status of the group is currently in limbo as members Aubrey O'Day and Wanita "D.Woods" were dissmissed from the band in the fall of 2008 due to personality conflicts and creative differences.  Fans are hopeful that Diddy will be able to repair the damage done and make Danity Kane an even stronger group with the addition of new members yet to be determined.
