Christian Bale (born January 30th, 1974) was recognized for his acting talents at the early age of 13 when he was cast in the Steven Spielberg directed movie Empire of the Sun.  He starred in several movies throughout the 90's such as Newsies (1992), Swing Kids (1993), and Little Women (1994), but it wasn't until he played the controversial role of Patrick Bateman in 2001's American Psycho did everyone take notice.  Ever since, Christian Bale has shown his acting prowess and dedication to the craft by mixing up the roles he plays such as playing a dragonslayer in 2002's Reign of Fire opposite Matthew McConaughey, an emaciated Trevor Reznik in 2004's The Machinist to a working-class magician in 2006's The Prestige opposite Hugh Jackman.   Christian Bale won the much-coveted role of Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins (2005), and its massive box-office success has spurned the next movie in the popular Batman franchise, The Dark Knight (2008) which pits him against The Joker played by Heath Ledger.  Christian Bale is now reaping the rewards of being a member of Hollywood's A-List with high-profile projects such as Public Enemies (2009) with Johnny Depp and Channing Tatum and playing the role of John Conner in Terminator Salvation (2009).
