Charlize Theron (born August 7th, 1975) traveled the world as a working model at the tender age of 16, but quit after a year to pursue her passion for dance. She studied ballet at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York, but her dreams of becoming a professional dancer were crushed when she suffered a major knee injury. Charlize Theron made the move to Hollywood where her natural beauty captivated audiences in the 1996 movies 2 Days in the Valley and That Thing You Do! Charlize Theron went on to star in big blockbuster movies such as The Devil's Advocate (1997) with Keanu Reeves, Mighty Joe Young (1998) with Bill Paxton, Reindeer Games (2000) with Ben Affleck, and The Italian Job (2003) with Mark Wahlberg. Her greatest performance would come with her Academy Award winning portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in the film Monster (2003). Since receiving her Oscar, Charlize Theron has made sure to diversify her slate of films such as the action-starrer Aeon Flux in 2005 to the drama In the Valley of Elah in 2007.
