Boys Like Girls BIO

Boys-Like-Girls

The success of the pop rock band Boys Like Girls stands as an inspiration for all the unsigned musical artists looking for their big break.  In 2005, Martin Johnson (singer/guitarist) joined forces with guitarist Paul DiGiovanni, drummer John Keefe and bassist Bryan Donahue to record some songs he had written.  Later that year, the four Bostonians uploaded a rough version of their single "The Great Escape" to PureVolume and found themselves on top of the Unisigned Artists Chart.  Boys Like Girls' success on PureVolume got the attention of record producer Matt Squire and before the band knew it, they were touring nationwide with Cute Is What We aim for, Hit the Lights and Butch Walker.  In 2006, the much anticipated Boys Like Girls album was released with the lead single "Hero/Heroine" and later "The Great Escape"  and "Thunder".  Expectations for the Boys Like Girls' second album were so high, but they made sure to not disappoint their fans.  Their album Love Drunk was finally released in 2009 with hit singles such as "Love Drunk", "She's Got a Boyfriend Now" and "Two Is Better Than One" with Taylor Swift.  The band's popularity has soared so quickly that the sky truly is the limit when it comes to the potential of Boys Like Girls.
